Hi everyone!  I love to bake, and I am learning more and more about cooking as I go along.  One of the things I have learned from Tim, Mom, my foodie family on Facebook (Thank you Mark Brown!) and friends (Leslie for sure!), is that spices and seasonings really make a difference.

Tim and I used to be a faithful Penzeys customer.  Within the past year or so Mr. Penzey has decided to use his catalogs to bash Conservatives and specifically slammed residents of Waukesha County.  This post will NOT turn into a political bashing or defense.  I just want to state that since Mr. Penzey seems to have such an issue with our political beliefs, we believe he no longer needs to profit from our purchases. We have taken our business elsewhere. He is CERTAINLY entitled to his beliefs, but we feel he did not need to bring it into his business catalogs.

In our journey to find a new place to buy spices and seasonings we came across two options.  PS Seasonings & Spices www.psseasoning.com right here in Wisconsin, and Savory Spice Shop http://www.savoryspiceshop.com/.

Savory Spice Shop is my new go to place.  They offer a larger variety than PS Seasoning does.  Their staff is SO helpful.  While they do not have a catalog to shop, you can find all you need to know on their website. They are currently working on an eCatalog. I think that will be really cool when it becomes available.   Not sure about something? Contact them!  I have messaged them via Facebook, and they have been very quick to reply and very helpful.  I sent a message letting them know that I am a former Penzeys customer, and they helped me find similar blends to some of our old favorites. You can order online or give them a call.

They have a bigger variety of sizes of bags and jars to order.  I like that!  We are testing out a few new to us blends, so I ordered the small bag to start with.

They have  a Rewards Loyalty Club AND you get a reward on your birthday!  How awesome!  🙂 WOOT! WOOT!

My first order was for some double strength vanilla and cocoa powder.  My order shipped quickly, was packaged very well, and there was a bonus sample of their Long’s Peak Pork Chop Spice.  Tim and I love pork chops, so we tried it out.  OH YEA!!!  It is SOO good! http://www.savoryspiceshop.com/blends/longs.html  I ordered a bottle on the order I placed on Monday.

Savory Spice Shop has a couple of coupon codes that are available right now.  The first one is Facebook15.  Receive 15% off of your order.  Want to place a small order? Use code SPICELOVE to receive $7 off your $14 order thru August 31, 2015.  FREE SHIPPING on orders over $30!  We all know how easy that is!

It is a bummer that the nearest local store is in Libertyville, IL or Chicago, IL, but I am ok with ordering online.

I have been assured that Savory Spice Shop does not add opinions to their spices! 🙂

Give them a try.  I think you will be happy you did!

Thank you for stopping by!
