Today was a great stop at the West Allis Farmers’ Market. The only bummer was that the guy I usually buy carrots from did not have carrots this weekend, but that is ok because his cauliflower was AWESOME!
Lettuce, champagne currants, red currants, cherries, cauliflower, and broccoli.
Not pictured it the cactus Lizzy bought for $3 with her allowance money. She was SO excited about it.
I also picked up a bag of crazy corn (regular popcorn, cheddar popcorn and caramel corn) from Polzin Farms. You can check their info out here: https://www.freshnation.com/vendor/profile/40266
We were excited to hear that Hoeskstra’s will have sweet corn next week. It is by far the best sweet corn I have EVER had…EVER! Herman is the sweetest man, and he will sing a beautiful song for you if you ask. http://www.hoekstras.net/
We had lunch from Lopez bakery today at Lizzy’s request. Chicken tamales and custard churros for dessert. OH SO GOOD!!! They don’t have a website, but you can check out their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lopez-Bakery/106938366052586?rf=109391662433427
