During the summer of 2013 Tim and I went on a stay-cation. We had a really nice time. Tim planned a weekend of lighthouse tours for us. I LOVE LIGHTHOUSES.
One of our stops was at the Wind Point Lighthouse in Racine, WI. I had been here once before, but the lighthouse was not open to climb. THIS visit it was open, so we climbed it! The climb is 144 steps. This is the tallest lighthouse I have climbed. 🙂 The last picture is of Tim and I at the top of the lighthouse! 🙂
Wind Point Lighthouse is one of the oldest and tallest lighthouses that is still operational on Lake Michigan.
The lighthouse had a third order Fresnel lens pictured above. Isn’t it just beautiful?
