Last Sunday, Tim, Mom and I went to the State Fair. It was very crowded, and we were unable to see some of the stuff we wanted to see. However! We were able to see the raptors from the Schlitz Audubon.
The first picture is Cutright the Peregrine Falcon. I hope I spelled that correctly! WE Energies has supported nesting spots for these birds, and they are really making a comeback! He us fairly new to the Schlitz Audubon.
Next is Dory. She is a Northern Saw-whet Owl. She is tiny, and I think she is adorable! We have seen her at all of the events we have gone to that were held by the Schlitz Audubon. 🙂
My last two pictures are of Valkyrie. She is an immature bald eagle. She is about three years old. She is starting to change, but she won’t have a white head and yellow beak ’til around age 5. She really is amazing!!!
If you live in the area, please go see the Nature Center. They have a calendar of events on their web page at http://www.sanc.org.
You can find more info about the other raptors there too. We have been very fortunate to see almost all of them, and we have learned A LOT!
Thank you for stopping by!
