Tim and I are very spoiled! We were gifted a set of Calphalon pots and pans. I had mentioned that the set we have is starting to see it’s better days. The one pan in particular that we used most often was in really bad shape.
If you shop online at Kohls.com you can sometimes score a pretty good deal on any Calphalon cookware. There are plenty of options. The nice part of shopping at Kohl’s for these is that you can, depending on the current sales, earn some Kohl’s Cash, get 30% off, and get free shipping. You can use up to four coupon codes per purchase, and be sure to be a Yes Rewards member so you can earn a little monthly present too. Rules and regulations can be found on their website. I am not paid to promote this in any way. I am just sharing a way to save some cash, and who doesn’t like that!
We have a set of the nonstick Calphalon Signature pots and pans. We LOVE them. They are so easy to use, and they clean up beautifully.
In the pamphlet that came along with them, it says to wash them in warm sudsy water and dry by hand. Then wipe the interiors with a light coat of cooking oil. My dear friend and go-to guy for cooking advice and info Chef Mark recommends doing this weekly.
DO NOT use aerosol cooking sprays on these. They recommend using an oil mister filled with olive oil or vegetable oil or to dab a bit of oil on a paper towel and carefully wipe the interior of the pan.
Preheat the pan at the heat setting you plan to use when you are cooking.
I always hand wash these. Some sets are ok to put in the dishwasher, but I prefer to hand wash.
Metal utensils are obviously not recommended as they will wreck the interior of the pots and pans.
I really like that these pots and pans can go from stove top to oven, and that the maximum oven temperature is 450 degrees.
I realize that these sets are pricey. I understand they are probably not in a lot of people’s budgets. However, they are going to last a really long time if they are used and cared for properly. They come with a 10 year warranty. I really like using them, and I am not a very experienced cook. You don’t have to buy a whole set. Kohl’s does sell them individually. I am aware that other stores sell this line, but with Kohl’s you have the options of using multiple coupon codes and possibly earning some Kohl’s Cash.
