Sympathy cards can be hard to make. I do like to have a few extra made in my stash though. This card is extremely simple, but yet I really like how it turned out. I sent this card to my Sister-in-law’s mother when her husband recently passed.
Well shoot! Now that I look closely at the picture I see a bit of embossing powder scattered on me. I even made sure to use my Embossing Buddy. I blame the fact that our apartment is SO dry and everything seems to have a static charge to it.
The Embossing Buddy is a super great tool to use. Use it by rubbing it all over the piece of card stock you are going to emboss on before you stamp on it. Then stamp your image, use your embossing powder, shake off the extra embossing powder and heat up. The Embossing Buddy helps keep random lil parts of the embossing powder from sticking where you don’t want them to stick. They are cheap (in my opinion) in the Stampin’ Up! catalog. I use mine every time I heat emboss. 🙂
It is my unprofessional opinion that the Crumb Cake ink from Stampin’ Up! goes so well with the gold embossing. I used that to stamp the sentiment inside the card. There is always the option to emboss in gold as well, but I prefer to use the Crumb Cake.
Please let me know what you think of the white on white card stock on this card. Thank you! 🙂
